Recollections of the ‘stream’ by Andrew Osborne

Andrew Osborne was born on The Brents (before it was incorporated into Faversham Borough in 1935) and has lived in the town all his life. He is an architect, founder member of the Faversham Society, trustee and chairman of several local charities, and formerly an independent Member of Faversham Borough Council, Swale Borough Council and Faversham Town Council. He is an Honorary Freeman of Faversham and a Holder of the British Empire Medal.

As a boy he played in the Westbrook, when it flowed from Painter’s Forstal. He recounts some of his memories of the stream here.

If you, or someone you know, has memories of the Westbrook and Stonebridge Pond that you would like to share The Friends of the Westbrook would love to hear from you.

  1. Memories of the Westbrook was very interesting. I live on St Ann’s estate and would have loved to see the area before it was ruined by housing. When are we, as a species, going to stop over breeding and give other creatures a chance?
